A new Klezmer album

The Klezmer Invasion – is a collaborative album between composer Yuval Joseph Havkin and multi instrumentalist – and Clarinet virtuous – Oleg Lapidus

Klezmer music is traditional Jewish eastern European music that is generally considered to be something from the past. Having performed Klezmer music together for many years, including forming the Klezmozarts group that performs classical music in Klezmer arrangements, Yuval decided to write his own original compositions and bring them to life. 

The Album was created with no funding and took 8 years to be completed. Yuval would invite Oleg to his studio and present him with new compositions, Oleg would add his input and after developing the pieces together, they recorded versions of just piano and clarinet, Yuval later adding more layers of live instruments on top.

There are also two featuring guests in the album:

 Bar Markovich who is an award-winning cross-genre violinist who lives in London and often performs with Yuval played violin on the track “ Bobbe and Zaide”.  https://barmarkovich.com/ 

 Olivia Lapidus, Oleg’s talented daughter, using her child voice for the laughing clarinet piece. Recorded when she was 7, now shes a talented west actress and violinist. Instagram: olivia_lapidu
